About this project

SAPA will build a sustainable aviation sector community that encourages both collaboration and healthy competition

contact profile directory example

The Sustainable Aviation Professionals Association (SAPA) will be a new online membership based non-profit international association designed to create a community specifically for those directly involved in making air transport more sustainable. It will be particularly relevant to sustainability-type managers at airlines who have unique needs. It will provide market insights, case studies, job opportunities, policy updates and leader profiles. Members will be able to signup easily online. New members will subject to verification and ratification by a referee peer to maintain the integrity of the group. Membership will be free of charge to encourage participation and collaboration. It is recognised that sustainable aviation professionals are in a particularly psychologically stressful position sitting at the nexus between numerous stakeholders prone to exert high pressure such as internal corporate finance managers and external environmental groups. The SAPA community will help to relieve some of this pressure, reduce the high burnout rate that exists amongst sustainable aviation professions, build camaraderie and facilitate collaboration whilst improving collective levels of sustainable aviation knowledge and education. An element will be a searchable membership directory (‘little black book’) with contact details will display profiles in a minimalist manner by auto-extracting LinkedIn data (somewhat visually similar to the web design utilised by SkyNRG) to assist connections between members.
